Portable Dishwashers

A look at the chafing dish and other food serving, cooking, and dish washing devices.

Do you want the cleaning power of a full size dishwasher, but you just don’t have a large enough home to install a full washer?  Have you ever thought about purchasing portable dishwashers instead?  These miracle machines give you all the cleaning capabilities of a large unit, in a much smaller and more convenient compact size that you can fit on your countertop.  They are ideal for use in small homes or apartments, or even in motor homes, so that you can wash dishes on the go.  There are so many advantages to having portable dishwashers, not to mention the low cost compared to bigger units, and you’ll really enjoy being able to use one every day.  You’ll never have to wash another dish by hand again, and that’s something you’ll really relish.

Although you will want to think about the type of portable dishwashers that are easiest for you to use, depending upon what you’re looking for out of your unit.  This is important, as there are a variety of different types of washers, and you want one that’s guaranteed to work for you.  That means the first thing that you’ll need to think about, is finding a size that’s appropriate for you.  You’ll find that some portable dishwashers are very small, and are only really capable of washing a meal’s worth of dishes at a time.  But you can find larger portable units that have room for a little bit more.  It’s all about choosing what’s most convenient for you under the circumstances.

Plus you will have to be sure that you have access to a faucet at all times during your use of your portable dishwashers.  This is because they require a faucet to actually facilitate getting and draining water.  In fact, every single set of new portable dishwashers that you purchase will come with a faucet kit, so that they can be attached to your sink.  Usually this means two hoses, one that will attach to the faucet itself, and the other used for draining dirty water into your sink.  That way the washer can work just like a standard large unit, but much more easily, and in a smaller space.

However, it’s also important to realize that portable dishwashers also don’t work quite as well as large units.  That means you’re likely going to have to rinse off the plates beforehand, so that the machine can then clean them.  But portable dishwashers aren’t really built to deal with food particles of any kind, and that means that you just can’t count on them getting rid of everything if there’s a lot of residue on a plate.  For that reason you have to be prepared for a little more work on your part if you want to get the most use out of your compact device.

You can typically purchase cheap portable dishwashers from anywhere that appliances are sold.  Stores like Sears and Best Buy can be ideal for purchasing literally any type.  Just remember to ensure that it comes from a quality brand like Whirlpool or Kenmore.  Also, you’ll want to be sure that your portable dishwashers feature wheels, to make for easy moving and storage when they are not in use.
